Bayside Engineering, Inc. conducted an investigative survey to evaluate and document the existing handicapped accessibility for all entrances, levels and rest rooms, fire alarm service equipment, the alarm audio/visual devices, pull station locations and mounting heights for compliance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) at fifteen (15) City of Boston Public School buildings.

As part of the work, Bayside Engineering, Inc. reviewed a previous study performed by others in connection with the Life Safety Deficiency recommendations and construction cost estimates. Bayside and our subconsultants prepared schematic drawings noting the existing entrance accesses, rest rooms, fire alarm and life safety system components and devices to be upgraded for ADA compliance on CAD drawings. Bayside prepared all necessary public contract bid documents and the estimated costs for upgrades at each school.  Bayside also assisted the City of Boston during construction including shop drawing review and periodic inspections during construction.  Varying level of architectural and engineering services were performed for each of the schools listed below.
