Bridgewater Maintenance Facility, Bridgewater, MA

Bayside Engineering completed the design and construction plans for two new pre-engineered maintenance facility buildings and three additions to existing maintenance buildings to be constructed and two separate sites in Bridgewater for the Massachusetts Highway Department.  Both locations included site improvements; new water, gas and electrical utilities, and new wastewater treatment systems in the final PS&E.  The new buildings and additions include over 20,000 square feet of maintenance space and 2,000 square feet of administrative office space.  Construction of Location No. 2 is scheduled for completion in Summer 2000.
 
Bridgewater Maintenance Facility, Location No. 1
  • Redevelopment and expansion of existing maintenance facility buildings and site.
  • Building design included one (1) new 7,000 sq. ft. cold vehicle storage and maintenance building and three (3) new additions to the existing buildings providing approximately 7,000 sq. ft. of additional new space.
  • The three additions included a steam cleaning bay, a connecting bay between two existing buildings and an inspection and registry bay.
  • Complete site survey, planning and redevelopment with all new utilities and services for both new and existing facilities.
  • New wastewater collection and leaching field treatment system for entire site.
Bridgewater Maintenance Facility, Location No. 2
  • Expansion of existing maintenance facility site.
  • Building design included one (1) new 9,000 sq. ft. vehicle maintenance and administrative office building for the Massachusetts Highway Department.
  • Building design included vehicle storage, maintenance, office and lavatory areas.
  • 2,000 sq. ft. of administrative office space including rest rooms and HVAC system.
  • Complete site survey, planning and redevelopment with all new utilities and services for the new building.
  • New wastewater collection and leaching field treatment system for entire site.

Bayside supplied services necessary for planning, designing, and overseeing various construction and landscape renovations and site grading work.  Architectural and Engineering services included the following:

    • Presentation, consultation, discussion and finalization of all plans and procedures.
    • Structural floor slab design for pre-engineered buildings and additions.
    • Structural building design and specifications for pre-engineered building structures..
    • Mechanical, electrical and civil engineering services as required.
    • Rest rooms, plumbing, leaching field soils analysis, design and Title V permitting.
    • Detailed cost estimated and conducted a cost analysis.
    • Drawings, design concepts, preliminary and final plans.
    • Construction specifications and contract bid documents for this publicly advertised project.
    • Acted in consortium with local officials, as engineer/designer of the project.
    • Obtained permits and licenses, and the completed other required regulatory reviews.
    • Assisted with construction including shop drawing review, construction inspections and building permit sign-off as the Structural Engineer of Record (SER).
