Bayside Engineering, Inc. has recently completed
the design and environmental permitting and is currently working with
the Massachusetts Highway Department on the construction of a complete
rest area facility located on I-495 Southbound in Chelmsford, MA.
Construction administration services include pre-construction overview,
construction inspection and review, contractor invoice review, and
shop drawing review.
This multi-million dollar rest area reconstruction and upgrades
project included the following design elements:

- Site Development and Alternatives Analysis
- Geotechnical Studies and Groundwater Modeling
- Wetland Mitigation, Replication and Permitting
- Welcome Center Building including HVAC, Electrical and Mechanical
- Rest Rooms, Plumbing, Leaching Field Soils Analysis, Design and
Title V Permitting
- Emergency Electrical Generator
- Acceleration/Deceleration Ramps
- Site Landscaping and Public Uses (i.e. picnic tables, etc.)
- Parking Areas and Handicap Accessibility
- Sound Barriers and Noise Mitigation
- Stormwater Management and Treatment
- Traffic Management during Construction
- Site Signage and Advanced Highway Signage

Highway Department since 1996 include: Massachusetts Welcome Center located
