Modernization Improvements
Bayside has a wide range of experience with modernization improvements, which include ADA compliance upgrades and handicap access.  Designs include bathroom renovations, barrier free units, entrances, ramps, lifts, elevators, rest rooms and interior alternations.  Major clients include the City of Boston, the U.S. Postal Service, Massachusetts Army National Guard, U.S. Navy at Portsmouth, NH and Newport, RI, numerous local housing authority buildings, Massachusetts DCPO and several VA Hospitals.

Building Repairs, Interior Renovations and Remodeling
Design of building additions, masonry and concrete waterproofing and repair, window replacements, remodeling of interior spaces, exterior restorations, interior and exterior modernization.  We have provided extensive services for the City of Boston, many other Cities and Towns and private clients such as Midas, TJ Maxx, Mobil, Getty, and Shell Oil.

Historic Restoration
Complete rehabilitation capabilities including waterproofing and masonry repairs, window replacements, roof and facade repair and replacement, stone and concrete repairs, maintenance of period styles, fire and safety code upgrades, and comprehensive interior renovation.  Peabody City Hall, the James Michael Curley Mansion and the Muster House at the Charlestown Navy Yard are our most noted recent examples of historic restoration projects.

Housing Developments
Bayside has been responsible for a wide variety of renovation projects for several Housing Authorities of which a majority of the work included the replacement of windows, roofs and ADA compliance upgrades. Many of the projects involved more than one building which needed to be renovated.

Handicap Access
Designs for new parking spaces, entrances, ramps, lifts elevators, rest rooms and interior alternations.  Work has included numerous studies and actual designs.  Major handicap renovation clients include U.S. Postal Service, VA Hospitals and the City of Boston and many other municipalities.

Roofing Repairs and Replacements
Complete design capabilities for roofing systems such as built up roofs; elastomeric membrane roofs; steel standing seam roofs; slate, and asphalt shingles.

New Elevator Designs, Elevator Repairs and Replacements
Complete design capabilities for all types of elevator systems, control system upgrades, hoisting machines, waterproof elevator pits, door assemblies, door sensors and two-way emergency communication and car top stations. Major elevator clients include U.S. Postal Services, DCPO, Housing Authorities and Municipal Buildings, MWRA and the City of Boston.

Station Houses,  and Service Facilities
Design of new buildings, additions, renovations and restorations.  Building types have included station houses, loading depots, recycling docks, terminals, maintenance facilities garages, fuel stations, and many municipal buildings.  Extensive renovation and restoration work including Midas, Mobil, Eastern Airlines, Logan Airport, MBTA, and the MHD.  Also included is complete designs for multi-level parking garages and parking decks, inspection and repair shops, highway garages, gas stations, vehicle maintenance shops; designs for the installation of vehicle lift equipment, service bays, fuel storage and pumping equipment.

Investigative Services
Our engineers maintain a high level of experience in building structures. Our experience encompasses concrete, masonry, steel and wood structures.  Our structural engineering services include determination of the structural adequacy of the buildings, evaluation of their failures as indicated by excessive deflections, cracking and settling.  Our architectural investigations included the causes of moisture penetration and other weather proofing failures of exterior components.

Field Inspection
Field inspection and construction supervision, data collection and as-built drawings. These services can either be full time or part-time depending upon the client needs.

Consultant Support
Bayside has in-house architectural, structural, civil and environmental engineers capable of performing all required analysis and design.  Mechanical, electrical, and asbestos removal services are available from experienced consultants with which Bayside has associated.
